Eye Health is an independently edited educational website operated by a non-clinician with a personal interest in aging eyes. This policy describes our editorial standards. It does not certify that every older article has already completed a new review.
Evidence comes before advice
For medical explanations we prioritize government health resources, established professional organizations and relevant research. Examples include the National Eye Institute, American Academy of Ophthalmology and CDC. Coverage explanations should be checked against Medicare.gov, CMS and the reader’s current plan documents. Device instructions should use official manufacturer documentation.
What our content can and cannot do
Guides explain general concepts, support appointment preparation and help readers ask better questions. They cannot diagnose a symptom, recommend an individual treatment or confirm an insurance claim. Personal experiences must be labeled and kept separate from medical evidence. We do not invent patient stories, credentials or clinical review.
Editorial updates and medical review
A publication date records when an article was published. An editorial update date indicates a meaningful content change or review; routine formatting does not justify presenting old information as newly researched. Medical review is a separate process. Unless a named, verifiable clinician reviewer and review scope are explicitly provided, do not treat an article as medically reviewed.
Corrections
To report a concern, use our contact page. Include the page URL, the exact statement, an explanation and a reliable source when available. Do not submit medical records. Substantive corrections should be explained on the affected article; minor typographical fixes may be made without a separate note. Reports do not receive individual clinical advice.
Coverage and cost information
Benefits can differ by plan, year, location, service and provider. Illustrations and calculators are estimates, not quotes or promises of reimbursement. Verify eligibility, network participation, assignment, deductibles and optional upgrades directly before ordering care or equipment.
